3/23: Download the Seek app on your phone. Take a walk outside and scan plants and animals. Notice that the app tells you all about the plant and how it is classified.
3/5- What is a polymer? Ask your student they know! Since the students learned so much about Chemical and Physical changes they will take what they know and create the bounciest slime. I did tell them that if they wanted a special ingredient they could bring them in. 2/4- The students completed a centers rotation on weathering and erosion. They completed different tasks to model weathering and erosion and discussed what they learned. Our next unit is on the physical and chemical change and I can’t wait! There are a few supplies needed that are located on the amazon wish list. 1/9- This week the students are finishing their projects on Tinkercad and will be printing next time with the 3D printer. 11/4- The students will learn about a pioneer in the medical field who was not allowed to patent her work due to her gender and race. The students will work in groups to create an assistive technology that will help someone with a disability. After sketching out their model the students will use Tinkercad to create a 3-D prototype. 10/22- The students were given challenges to create different kinds of circuits. They used their knowledge of circuits to complete different tasks. Some used switches to turn a light off or on, some were able to turn on 4 lights, and some made a light that was brighter than the other. 9/18- This week we finished testing our model airplanes and discussed our observations and why some airplanes flew better than the others. 8/27- This week since the students are learning about the Turn of the Century they made 4 different types of airplanes. (The video to these are located on a Blendspace.) They will test their planes and check their measurement and add the two throws together to find out which plane flew the furthest.
